Clean mop! November 9, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The mop works very well... yes the cord is a bit too short, but I'll have to learn to adjust to that. The washable covers work well and should last a long time. The first time out I was emptying the unused water back into the distilled water jug and dropped a very important part into the jug that had to be fished out.... but that won't happen again.
Better than the SHARK steam mop by far! November 5, 2008 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
I have 2 dogs, and one is still house and crate training. I try to be as chem free as possible where the dogs are concerned, my floors and their crates. I borrowed my dad's SHARK steam mop, and it worked fine, but it was flimsy, and I knew that I would be using the mop multiple times a day when the dogs track mud in or the puppy has an accident-- So I got the Bissell Steam Mop- and it is WONDERFUL! The unit is far sturdier from top to bottom and it is actually multi-functional. I use it as intended with the micro fiber cover to mop the floor, but then I take off the cover and am able to get a direct jet of steam that I can use in the corners of the tiled bathroom that the mop doesn't reach or that gross caked up mess that shows up in that corner under the fridge-- I was able to shoot the area with steam for about 20 seconds with the uncovered mop and then it wiped easily away with a paper towel- I always keep the water bottle filled and use it everyday! I heard that microfiber mop pads shrink in the dryer, so i wash them in the laundry and then take them out wet and put back on to the steam mop wet to air dry in the shape they need to stay in.
left streaks on my hard wood floors November 2, 2008 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
It left streaks, where the steam comes out on my hardwood floors. I guess it does ok on tile, but I think you are also pushing around the dirt that sticks to the pad.
wouldn't buy this again or recommend it to a friend.
Saved My Laminate Floors! November 1, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Made a HUGE error and used one of those miracle 2-step clean & shine products (makes them look better than new!!!) on my laminate floors. At first, I thought wow, looks good - WRONG! Started to look bad, so, stupidly used the products again (learnng curve). Floor became dull, sticky, grimy, and showed footprints all over. Used every cleaning product in my arsenal - no luck, floors just kept getting worse. Finally (desperate now) decided to try this steamer. Well, it sure did the job, although it took a minimum of 6 (six) cleanings to get the gunk off. Had to use mutiple pads, because the gunk dries like concrete (well, almost that bad), but in the end, I have my floors back to looking beautiful again. Trust me, NEVER use any of that stuff, no matter what they claim, they will all leave a semi-permanate unsightly residue.
Works Great October 31, 2008 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
This item works great. It does generate a little more steam than my previous steam cleaner making it easier to push. I should have bought this unit initially.
