Amazon.com Review Excellent for either indoor or outdoor cooking, this oversized 24-quart stockpot boils, steams, or deep-fries enough food to feed a large crowd. Bayou Classic makes this stockpot out of commercial grade aluminum that heats contents quickly, is lightweight, but is also incredibly strong. Two heavy-duty riveted handles can be held securely even with mitts. The insert basket, also aluminum, is one of the toughest around, and features large 1/2-inch perforated holes and a swing-style wire handle that stays upright on its own or folds over to the side for storage. A ridge around the inside of the pot keeps the insert suspended about 3/8 inch off the bottom of the pot. The lid is vented to allow excess steam to escape. Bayou Classic cookware is renowned for its versatility. Any youth group, annual family gathering, hunting or fishing party, or neighborhood chef knows how handy a pot this size can be, whether boiling corn on the cob, steaming clams, or deep-frying hushpuppies. Measuring 10 inches high and 14 inches in diameter, the pot is probably too large to fit in most dishwashers and will need to be washed by hand. --Ann Bieri

Too big for me October 25, 2008 Great pot and well made but i bought it for a stove top (my mistake not theirs). it takes 20 minutes to steam and boil on my smoothtop electric stove (using two burners). The large size and basket are great for lobsters but this pot is best for an outdoor system or a large industrial stove burner. It is just too big for my wife to handle.Be forwarned it's a great value but big!
Love it! August 28, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Great product! Had been looking for a pot with a strainer and am very happy with this one. Big enough for the job and it gets it done! Use it for clams, corn, lobster... whatever. Nice and lightweight and "stocky" enough not to tip over easily. Strongly recommend it for the price.
Perfect size for my family of 5 May 1, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
You can slap a good amount of corn on the cobb in this stockpot. I've search around and this size pot made more since for average family backyard cooking. I've done a lobster in it too, and it came out great.
