Good value November 23, 2008 We checked several big box and local stores and we are happy with the price tag and accessories that come with this one.
Bayou classic 3016 cooker October 30, 2008 This cooker is great we used it on a cub scout camp out I cooked everything from a giant pot of soup to sausage and eggs for breakfast using a cast iron frying pan instead of the pot
great October 3, 2008 We havent used this yet as we got it for when we go camping and havent went so far. But as far as the delivery it was promt and good
Not worth the effort and doesn't get hot enough August 30, 2008 I bought my fryer two years ago. I'm an avid outdoor cook but could not get this thing to create the impressive fried turkey that everyone talks about. I think it's because my wife's oven baked turkeys are already done to perfection (juicy, dark brown on the outside, etc.) and are hard to beat. My expectations were higher based on how people rave about fried turkeys.
As for the product, I had a VERY hard time getting this thing up to temperature. In two years I cooked six turkeys in this pot and had the same problem every time. I tried adjusting the regulator, etc. without luck. The flame seems to be fine but it simply does not get hot enough. As soon as the room temp turkey goes in, the heat drops down and will never return back to appropriate cooking temperature. This could be due to the fact that my cooking always took place in the cold months of November and December in VT. If it won't work under those temperatures they should advertise it as such.
The product quality is good. Very sturdy and durable. It's just too bad that it doesn't get hotter to really fry that turkey right!
Turkey Fryer August 1, 2008 worth the $$. read other reviews and was apprehensive about purchase, couldn't have made a better choice. Just fried up 2 Turkeys they were delicious, took about 30 minutes to assemble all parts and screwes were there, no short ones that were stated in previous reviews. All u need is a little common sence and just read directions and follow should have no problem. 3 1/2 minutes per lb. thats all u need to know LOL
