Amazon.com Review Weber's One-Touch Gold kettle grill is a great buy for anyone looking for a classic model with a few convenient extras. The design is sleek. The results are delicious. As with all Weber grills, this kettle's lid and bowl are constructed of premium porcelain-enameled steel--which means not only does heat radiate evenly, but the grill will survive if it's left out in the rain. The cooking surface (22-1/2 inches in diameter) is big enough to accommodate six large steaks, twice as many burgers, or up to a dozen kebabs, and the grill's classic kettle shape keeps flare-ups to a minimum. When designing this grill, Weber clearly kept convenience in mind. The grill's nickel-plated grate has two built-in hinged side openings that make adding more charcoal briquettes easy and safe, and, when the lid's not in use, it can hang from the bowl by a handy hook. The grill is durable, too. The porcelain-coated steel bowl and lid are exceptionally strong and designed never to rust, fade, or peel. The grill's aluminum vents and ash catcher won't rust either, and its tripod base, nylon handles, and all-weather wheels--besides being exceptionally sturdy--make the grill remarkably easy to maneuver. Weber's patented One-Touch cleaning system--a clever setup of lever-activated blades--sifts ash out of the kettle and into a cooking-pot-shaped ash catcher. You never have to get your hands dirty--and emptying the kettle takes only a few seconds. To top it all off, Weber throws in a 31-page owner's guide filled with cooking tips and time-tested recipes for grilling everything from pork chops to bratwurst to Cornish hens.

one touch gold charcoal grill August 17, 2008 excellent product--love the way the food comes cooked on this grill --- the charcoal flavor is unmatched -- nice to have the collection of the coals contained
Back to charcoal August 16, 2008 After several years of hard use, my gas grill needed more parts and work than I was willing to put into it. After reading dozens of glowing reviews for the Weber kettle grill, and looking at the prices of decent quality gas grills, I decided to go with the Weber. None of the local stores carried the Gold model, so I ordered it from Amazon. The price was right, and shipping was fast and free.
Assembly was easy for the most part. Fitting the collar that holds the ash pan to the underside of the kettle was a little tricky however. As some reviewers have pointed out, the legs are made from very thin walled aluminum and are a little shakey.
Results have been great. I get the coals started very fast with the Weber chimney starter then follow the cooking instructions in the booklet. Everything - burgers, steak, chicken, sausage, ribs, veggies - comes out juicy and flavorful. There is a distinctive taste to the food that gas cooking just doesn't provide. The kettle design makes cooking very efficient. If I am making just a few burgers, I use only a dozen or so coals and they do the job.
One peeve that takes it down a star is the ash collection system. I paid a little more for the Gold model because it was supposed to be better in that regard than the Silver model. It is difficult to remove and replace the ash pan because you have to align two index pins and a handle with corresponfing slots in the collar piece. This does not work smoothly. When you rotate the ash pan, it binds and puts force on the collar. Because the collar is secured to the leg sockets with flimsy tabs, it pops out of place with a little pressure. Aside from that, everything works great.
Good Buy August 14, 2008 I am very pleased we purchased this grill! I was shocked at how big it was when we put it together. The grate was easy to clean and you simply move a latch and the ashes fall into the catcher. This grill is going to hold up for a very long time!
Great Product, Very Satisfied August 12, 2008 This Weber 751001 22 1/2-Inch One-Touch Gold Charcoal Grill is the best charcoal grill I have ever used. Heats up fast and maintains the heat for over an hour of cook time. Love it.
charcoal grill August 12, 2008 The Weber grill has user friendly features not found on most other charcoal grills. It does a good job of smoking in addition to grilling. I prefer it to my gas grill for big items.
