Product Description Self Watering Probes are a simple and effective way of watering your plants while you are on vacation. Just soak them in water for a couple of minutes to prepare the tips, then insert the probes into the soil of your potted plants and place the hose ends in a water reservoir nearby. The water will be slowly emitted through the ceramic cones, automatically watering your plants without the need to set timers or worry about electronic devices being turned on while you are away.

could not get them to work October 24, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I tested these before I left for vacation. They did not seem to work at all. I was using them on outside pots and unless I was doing something wrong no water came out of them from the water bowl
Works well with small/medium pots September 5, 2008 These probes work great. However, don't expect great results in larger size pots. I think one probe covers a 10 inch pot pretty well.
It watered my plants well while I was away August 18, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I had to go on a trip for about 2 weeks and thought of asking somebody to water the plants for me but being away for 2 weeks it's a big burden for anybody to do so. So I did some research for alternatives.
The positive review of this self-watering probes led me to purchasing this item. They arrived within a few days after my order and are easy to use. All you have to do is to soak them in water for 15 minutes then put them into the soil and leave the water hose in a water container. The one thing to watch out is the water level. It should not be higher than the plant.
I tested them for a few days before my trip and refilled the water tank before leaving home for my trip.
Every single plant survived and I found 7 new big tomatoes when I came home the other day (The flowers were blooming when I left).
I am very happy I purchased this item and would highly recommend it.
Works as advertised, saved plants while on vacation. July 31, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
We just returned from a 10-day vacation, leaving 7 plants and containers to the care of 10 spikes. Not only did all plants (indoors and out) survive during warm July weather, several showed better growth than with hand watering. The process to "start" and install the spikes is clearly described, and it's comforting to know that the spikes can be rehabilitated after extended use. We have left most in place as a convenience. Pay attention to the pot size guidelines -- we have four spikes in the largest container, a 24" herb pot. These are highly recommended!

These 5 watering probes have eliminated a lot of work for me. I have large vases sitting next to my flowers which I fill with water every few days, and I don't have to worry about forgetting my plants or overwatering them.
