4 out of 5 stars Works well   December 19, 2008
I had a knife chef and a pering knife from Wustof, but I wanted something guests could use when visiting and cooking. Also, I needed a steel and a bread knife.

I bough those during a gold box deal. They do the job well. They are sharp enough and do what they should do. They are not Wustof, but then, I got 21 pieces for the same price I got my 2 Wustof knives. Overall, I am satisfied with this set.

For those that complain about rust after washing in the dishwasher. You should never put your knives in the dishwasher. Always hand wash.

4 out of 5 stars Impressed   December 3, 2008
I purchased this set of knives as a Gold Box item not knowing what to expect. I am impressed with the quality and feel of this set. It is very heavy, solid blades right down to the steak knives. With most sets of this price range the smaller knives, and often even the larger ones, are thin and will bend or flex in your hand. This set is solid.

They are worth looking at when the price is right.

4 out of 5 stars Knife set   December 2, 2008
Nice set of knives for price. Biggest draw back is knives as received are not very sharp and must be honed. Finish and fit are good. For the price this was a very good value considering that just one knife from some brands are more expensive than this set of 22.

3 out of 5 stars Good blades but handles cracked even handwashed   November 28, 2008
We picked up the red version on Gold Box special, and we thought they were a great deal. The quality seemed good and the blades were sharp. There are lots of comments on how you have to hand wash them. Well we have no dishwasher, and I generally wash knives carefully. In this case almost all the steak knives bent a little and the handles cracked. They are still useable but I think I will avoid plastic handles in the future.

These knives are well worth the price --- cutting carrots was like slicing warm butter.

Be careful -- they are very sharp
