Customer Reviews:

3 out of 5 stars Nice looking, but a couple of problems   October 8, 2008
We have five of these on our house. They look very nice, and are fairly solidly constructed. The lights have only been mounted for about two months, so I can not comment on how well they will weather.

Two problems though. First, of the five lights, four have bad ambient light sensors. It is easy to wire around the sensors, and in our case we would still be Title 24-compliant - since we also have external motion sensors. But clearly there are some QA issues with whoever supplies their sensors. And the bad sensors should have been caught in the factory.

The other issue is that the fixture uses GU24 compact fluorescent bulbs, not the familiar screw-in style. (This is another Title 24ism...) The GU24 has two pins which have to be carefully inserted 'just right' in the two holes in the socket, then locked with about 1/8th of turn twist. It is hard to do this, because the bulb inserts from the bottom and there is no way to see what you are doing. I actually broke a bulb while attempting to do this. Fortunately, compact fluorescents have a long lifetime, so bulb changes should be infrequent.
