Amazon.com Review This sturdy, durable wand steamer presses wrinkles out of garments, drapes, and upholstery quicker and easier than an iron, and it doesn't "shine" or scorch fabrics like an iron can. Wand steamers are popular in the fashion and entertainment fields, where wardrobe crews must keep clothing immaculate while working quickly. This 1,300-watt steamer shoots high-velocity steam jets out of a 6-inch-wide head to smooth any fabric from sheer silk to thick wool. A removable water tank provides up to 90 minutes of steaming time. The steamer heats in a minute and then rolls to work on sturdy casters. Garments and drapes can be pressed where they hang, including closets, or garments can be hung from a loop atop the steamer's sturdy aluminum rod, which screws together to rise 62 inches above the floor. For storage, the rod has a holder for the wand. Indicative of the steamer's quality is the brass fitting attaching the hose to the tank. (A wrench to tighten the fitting is included, and it has magnets for storage on the base.) Other features include an automatic safety shutoff if the steamer runs dry and a stay-cool wand handle. The steamer's plastic base measures 11 inches wide, 17 inches high, and 14-1/2 inches deep. The steamer carries a one-year warranty against defects. --Fred Brack

Everyone needs one of these! December 4, 2008 What a great purchase! I've had mine for several months now. This is a great little steamer. Solid construction. Easy to use. I'm new to steaming and I had no idea how effective it is. It's perfect for those relaxed fabrics, just wave the wand over it a few times and all the wrinkles are gone. The permanent press type stuff, like dress pants and dress shirts are a little more trickey, but still way easier than ironing. If you want a crease, put it on your ironing board and use it like an iron. It's very effective at removing odors, even smoke. It's also great for furniture, drapes, sanitize your mattress, pillows, etc. Watch your fingers though, that steam is HOT!
I love it! November 25, 2008 I have looked at different steamers off n on for awhile, finally chose this one! I love it! It doesn't take the place of an iron, I don't know why people would think it would, quite honestly, BUT I can use it for 90% of things. I had practice using a steamer years ago, so maybe it has helped now. But, I steamed my drapes and put folds in them! It was easy and fun! Stayed up late the night I got it, playing! Great shipping time. It is easy to setup and use.
Works great when not leaking November 25, 2008 I purchased this less than a year ago. The unit worked great for approx 3 months until I woke up to a soaked floor. The unit leaked between the bucket and the steamer. I inspected the entire steamer and can't figure out how or why it's leaking. I called Jiffy and was told that the unit is under warranty (one year) and should be returned to Amazon. I contacted Amazons return department was told if I cannot exchange the item, only return and receive a 'reduced' refund. So I'm stuck with a steamer that needs drained after ever use. I will not buy from Amazon or Jiffy again simply because of the customer service.
Never have to iron again...Priceless November 5, 2008 I've been using it for months now and our clothes never looked better. I had the technique down by the fourth garment (mostly). It's easy to assemble and use. I have not burned myself but if you get careless you could. Don't use it with children around. It doesn't work well on heavy fabrics like denim but hey, no one is perfect. We are really happy with it.
good stuff November 2, 2008 It can take wrinkles out of almost anything. It's especially useful for things like curtains and bedsheets that would be a MAJOR pain to iron. I use it mainly for my dress shirts. I really would like to use it on my dress pants as well, and sometimes I do, but in my experience, it tends to slightly soften the creases, so I'm very careful how I use it on my dress pants. If I had a pant press to go along with this, it would be the perfect combination.
