I would have never bought something like this for myself, but I ended up with one anyway. I must say that I am thrilled that I did, and wish I had gotten one sooner. I've been going around the house dusting everything. I can see the dust coming off. The touch is very light so for the most part it doesn't knock things down. I was able to dust around knick knacks and dust off the frames of paintings without disturbing things too much. I even used it on some silk flowers that are over one of the paintings and it pulled off all of the dust and cobwebs and didn't smoosh the flowers. It works very, very well.
When I first took it out of the box some of the green stuff came off, but after shaking it out it has not been a problem at all.

Duster sucks.
1. the green hairs fly off
2. loose hairs then go all over in the air, on the floor and static-cling to the blind strings
3. "spray" bottle that accompanied the duster was without a spray cap
4. annoyingly loud spinning mechanism
Got this as a gift from MIL who saw it on t.v. - totally regret her wasting the money on this purchase. I'll stick with either vaccing the blinds or hand-wiping them.
Cheap, flimsy, and spontaneous November 12, 2008

With all of the good reviews, I thought I couldn't have gone wrong with one of these dusters. It looked really neat and innovative. However, I was greatly mistaken.
First, the axle which the duster attaches is not a secure fit; and when turned on, does not rotate evenly. Instead, it rotate rather flimsily.
Second, this takes 4 double A batteries. Upon putting in the batteries, the poor design prevents the sensors from completely touching. This results in the duster sporadically turning on and off. I tried adding something at the end of the battery holder to force the sensors to touch, but it would still act the same.
Third, the dust isn't trapped anywhere, so it is brushed back into the air, causing the dust to travel someplace else (back on other appliances, or the floor).
Wasted money in my opinion. I now use the duster extensions alone without the cheap electric toothbrush looking handle.
