| Editorial Reviews:
Amazon.com Review For avid readers who have spent many an hour squinting in dim light, LightWedge created this innovative paperback book light. The book light lies flat on the book page, creating the impression that the book itself is aglow. Designed specifically for mass-market paperbacks, this book light minimizes readers' optical duress and discomfort while illuminating each word without distortion or glare. Equipped with LED technology, this book light eliminates the hindrance of faulty or burnt out bulbs associated with many other book lights. Four AAA batteries power the book light for durations up to 40 hours, making it an ideal companion for a long flight or car ride. The book light features a high quality acrylic lens, a similar construction to that of a pair of reading glasses. Two levels of brightness enable readers to adjust the book light to suit particular environments and optical capabilities with a simple, one-touch button. For the best results, clean the book light like other optical equipment with a lens cleaner and a soft, micro-fiber cloth. Storing the book light within a book or a protective case prevents scratches, dust and other debris from obstructing the lens surface while extending the light's longevity. Batteries are not included with the book light. The book light measures 7-2/5 by 5-1/2 inches. --Jessica Reuling

NOT ACCEPTABLE November 25, 2008 The light on the page looks NOTHING like it does in the photo of the product. The light is very dim and uneven. It's the unevenness that makes the page hard to read. It makes it very difficult to scan your eyes across the page to read more than a couple of words at a time. So if you're reading anything technical, you can't see an entire mathematical equation or a line of computer code all at once.
The problem might easily be solved by the company inserting a few more LEDs in the product to fill in the dark spots. But they haven't addressed this for many years and don't seem likely to.
I bought a better book light that has a fluorescent bulb. It works beautifully and illuminates the page very evenly so that I can see the whole page at a glance.
Disappointment October 15, 2008 The plastic scratches extremely easily. The lights throw stips of light across the page instead of lighting the whole page. It is relatively heavy to hold along with the book. Altogether it was very disappointing. Not too bad in bed when it is really dark and there are pillows to support it.
Good but cumbersome to turn pages September 30, 2008 I love this product but have not figured out a good way to turn the page without taking out the light wedge. If someone has a solution, let me know
Love this BUT September 7, 2008 I love this book light, it is my second. I really loved my first one. it had two levels of brightness. this one only has 1 but is still a good product. Just a little bright some times. With the first one if I woke up in the middle of the night unable to sleep I could turn the light down and read. This one is too bright for that, It hurts your eyes if you try to turn it on after waking late at night.
Enough Waves to Make You Seasick! August 11, 2008 I purchased this for my father's birthday and gave it to him a couple days ago. What a disappointment! I put Duracell batteries in this and was all exited to see him use it since he reads constantly. I nearly cried when I saw the waves of light going across the page of his book. The light was uneven and made the plastic look like it was badly rippled. We put different batteries in and the exact same result. Shadows and ripples across the page that made it unreadable. I was so excited to find a such a perfect gift for his birthday and now I feel lousy for giving him such a piece of junk. He thanked me and put it up on a shelf. I'm certain he will never use it. I know I wouldn't!
I wish I had the foresight to take a photo of my LightWedge in action so everyone can see the bad performance of this thing. I wish I had paid more attention to the negative reviews and not wasted my money.
