Not What I Expected November 22, 2008 While Amazon might think this is a $60 value selling for $47, I personally do not. If I had paid $47 for this, I would be very disappointed instead of somewhat so. This is a rare instance where Amazon's picture looks better than the real thing. I guess that the frame is actually wood, although it is so thin as to make one wonder. I'm also conceding it's wood because the frame came with a one-inch crack that I smoothed over with a mahogany stain stick rather than return it. If I were using this clock anywhere else but the kitchen, and it were any other time but the holidays, I would have flat returned it. In any case, in person, the frame looks more like plastic than wood and for this reason would create a rather cheap impression in my living room.
As far as assembling, my husband had it running immediately. I plan to be watching it like a hawk for the next two weeks to be sure that it keeps time because if it doesn't, it is going back. Of course I will revisit this review if the clock does not keep time. November 29, 2008 update: Okay, so far the clock is keeping excellent time. I will not come back to this review unless the time keeping mechanism fails. Again, this is a fairly cheap looking clock, and when it is priced at $21.99 with super saver shipping, which it is as of this date, it is worth it, but I wouldn't pay more than that.
AWFUL - DO NOT BUY November 5, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I am finally throwing this away - beware - atomic resetting doesn't work and there is NO MANUAL OVERRIDE on this clock. Buy a clock where you can adjust the time, and DO NOT rely on the clock to reset correctly.
Rather disappointed... maybe its a dud?!!? October 12, 2008 I bought this clock and was pleased with its appearance and function for about the first month. After that, it began to have a problem. About every 3 to 4 days, I will find it just spinning and spinning... I have to take off the wall, hit the reset button and the time zone button and then it will reset overnight to the correct time only to do the same thing after another 3-4 days. I am sure that this is wearing out the battery as well as being incredibly annoying. If I had it to do over... I would NOT buy this clock.
Doesn't work September 1, 2008 Ok, it has the minute correct, but it was around 4 hours behind the actual time. I tried to manually correct it and it just rolled back to being wrong overnight. Just get a regular wall clock, this is not worth the agravation.
Excellent Purchase August 26, 2008 I am in no way technologically adept, but that posed no problem with this product. I opened the box, followed the directions, and by the next day, my clock had set itself to the proper time. It has been running quietly and correctly since then. I am confident that my clock and I will make it through the November time change without difficulty! It also matches my living room decor nicely.
