4 out of 5 stars Awesom   November 16, 2008
I bought this product because I cannot hear and respond to regular alarm clocks properly and this was causing upset among family members. This has changed our morning family dynamics. I hear/feel the alarm go off and can hit the snooze button how ever many times I want with no family backlash. My only problem with the product would be that I may need to buy another one for my other pillow. This is an awesome product.

3 out of 5 stars Not as good as previous model   August 29, 2008

I bought this because a previous model I had worked so well. It used to have a boxy shape and the lid covered all the buttons. I had it for a number of years before it gave out. This new style lasted about a year and then it wouldn't keep time despite changing all the batteries. The vibration wasn't as strong as my previous model and I found that sometimes it didn't go off at all if the pressure from laying on it hit it in the wrong place (where the turn off button is). This is because the cover doesn't protect the buttons sufficiently. I know I didn't just sleep through it because a few times I woke up before the alarm and realized that even though it was set it did not go off so lucky I woke up. I found that in order to make this thing work for me, I had to clip it to my pajama top near my neck (not comfortable) or if I had on a long sleeve top (not a loose sleeve), I could put it in my sleeve so that it would wake me up and not get turned off in error by pressure under the pillow.

4 out of 5 stars A good wake up vibration!   August 25, 2008
We're having a baby in a week and wanted a quiet way to wake my husband up for work, so not to wake the baby, of course! We just tested it under his pillow, and it passed. The vibration might be a little too strong (as I was able to feel it on my side of the bed), but my husband certainly won't sleep through it. The snooze is easy to get to, however, the downside is that it has a cover over the off button, so it's not that easy to get to when you're half asleep. Maybe it just takes getting used to, but a good solution for the baby.

1 out of 5 stars Shake does not "awake"   August 20, 2008
1 out of 1 found this review helpful

Unlike our previous shake awake that broke, this new one we bought in July 2008 does not vibrate strongly enough to wake us in the morning (many mornings it could not even wake my wife when the clock was attached under her pillow), and we've had to switch the setting to the audible alarm. The vibrations are just too gentle.

2 out of 5 stars Soft vibrations   June 23, 2008

I bought shake awake's first travel alarm years ago, but it finally gave out. This one is definitely not as good as the first one. It's easy to set, but the vibration is very soft and subtle. Twice in the last three weeks, I've slept right through it. There is no way to increase or decrease the vibrations. Yes, it works, but not very well and I'm disappointed.
