 Did not cure the "Bad File" problem September 7, 2008
This product comes with its own version of player that looks much like iTunes. The reason I purchased it was because I was getting many "Bad File" messages from my flash card. I thought using the Samsung player to import the files into the flash card would correct any format issues and enable to files to be read properly. It did not.
I also found that the data transfer using this cable took longer than when I used my USB card reader to transfer from my PC to the card.
The product itself is not a bad quality product. It just did not meet my expectations. With online shopping being there is no Sales clerk you can discuss what your expectations are you run the risk of occasionally coming across a product that does not scratch the itch so to speak.
If you do not use iTunes and do not have a card reader then purchase this item to do the file transfers using its associated software. It will not solve the "Bad File" problem.

This was a very good deal however the software is not compatible with Vista so my purchase was unnecessary. Vista users can download the software for thier phones at the Samsung website.

It allows you access to the phone's contents - photos, contacts. You can retrieve, update and write your contacts back to the phone but some settings like ring tones associated with contacts had to be reset afterwards. Also, can update contacts directly in the phone with the same results. Good for downloading photos to computer.
