Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Bushwacker jeep wrangler pocket flare review   December 28, 2008
Having purchased this item when it was first released years ago I knew i would receive a quality product. Although the old style flares were much better than the other products on the market these new flares have been inproved. rubber cushions used to mount the flares are a welcome addition as well as the mounting hardware. The new flares also seem to be a bit thicker than the old ones. All in all bushwacker means quality and buying them from amazon saved me big on shipping as well as finding me the best deal.

5 out of 5 stars Bushwacker Pocket Flares   November 7, 2008
As all of you Jeep owners know the original equip Jeep fenders fade to gray quickly and are next to impossible to restore. The Bushwacker flares do not fade, they retain their true black color. The fenders are easy to install, the welt between the body and the fenders gave me the most problem but patience was rewarded. I especially like the 4 3/4" width. I have 10" tires and these fenders almost give complete coverage without sticking out too far like the 6" style. I almost tore off my stock fenders on a tree or a rock I don't remember which! By the way my Wife has a relative who is an Employee of Bushwacker. The Amazon price was as good as he could get, and the shipping was free with Amazon!!

5 out of 5 stars Put on my 2002 Jeep Wrangler Sport   November 2, 2008
Amazon had a good price on these. I tried several methods of restoring my old flares but finally pulled the plug on new ones by Bushwacker. The order arrived promptly and a quick inspection showed all the necessary parts and instructions were included (including the spacers, nuts, washers and screws).

The hardest part of the installation was removal of the old flares. Be prepared to spend some time on this as you need to remove the plastic cover in the wheel well on the rear in order to access the nuts on the back of the bolts. This isn't mentioned in the instructions but you have to do it. They will pull out just be persistent.

The next hardest part is being patient while putting on the rubber seal. It has an adhesive and has to be pushed on the edges of the flare. Not hard at all just a little time consuming.

All in all, the final product gave a nice updated appearance to the Jeep. Much better than the washed out old ones.

I saved over $100 buying them from Amazon. Installation was no problem...hardest part was the rubber weather stripping. Really spiffs up the ole' Jeep!
