 Excellent Converter January 5, 2009
I bought this for use in a small motorhome and pickup truck - it is superb in this arena. I experimented with it and tried using a 12V Air Compressor so it could be used off the 110v circuits - no way!! This is for light duty things, excellent for Fantastic Fans, etc - but not 12v compressors. I plan on ordering another now that Amazon has it on sale.

I was looking for a product like this to power a rechargeable aerobed pump which I'm converting so I can run it directly from my wall outlet. I want to power it from the wall outlet because the battery no longer holds sufficient charge to power the pump. I came across this product and was surprised that it had a 5.8A ouptut rating at this price. I started to look around the web and came across this site ([...]) where it is listed as 1.8A. I couldn't find the manufacturers site but 1.8A is probably more accurate for this item. This would explain the problems posted with powering certain equipment. Bummer. Looks like my search continues :(
Travel Much ? December 13, 2008
When I knew I was going to be in Europe for a few months I bought this to power all my electronics ie: Laptop, Cell Phone, Portable DVD, etc. I have to say it had plenty of power and more if needed to run and charge all those things and more. I Highly Suggest Buying this ! It saves you from buying a A/C converter cord for your electronics.

I had looked far and wide for a replacement for the Vector power converter...even calling Vector [which has changed ownership]. The
Sunforce works perfectly and the price was right. I'd recommend to anyone who needs a small power converter.
