GE NightHawk Sport Automotive Replacement bulbs feature an advanced blue coating, producing a high-performance and stylish blue-white light for a sporty look while providing optimal illumination for safer driving after dark. These ultra-bright, street-legal bulbs ease the challenge of night driving by making it easier to see farther down the road. According to the National Safety Council, automotive related death rates are three times greater at night than during the day. With NightHawk Sport bulbs lighting the way, you'll drive safer and with greater confidence. And since these bulbs are just as easy to install as any other replacement bulb, you can reap the benefits of NightHawk Sport's intelligent bulb technology within a few short minutes.

GE Nighthawk sport headlamps feature high performance, blue-white light, putting a whole new light on your driving experience.

Compare standard bulbs to GE NightHawk Sport bulbs.
NightHawk Sport bulbs are designed for all drivers, especially those seeking a stylish blue-white light to upgrade the appearance of their vehicle. Whether you're an automotive do-it-yourselfer looking to upgrade to the latest lighting technology, or a casual driver simply seeking the brightest GE bulbs available, the NightHawk Sport delivers by putting more light on the road in areas where you need it the most. Using a robust filament and a refined, xenon gas composition, Nighthawk Sport produces an average 30-percent more luminance than GE's standard original-equipment halogen bulbs.

More and more time is spent in vehicles, both for business and pleasure, so brighter bulbs and better vision can make a big difference. If you're looking for more light, greater visibility at a distance and improved driver confidence, then look no further than GE NightHawk Sport automotive replacement bulbs.

5 out of 5 stars Bright white light   January 4, 2009
Definitely brighter and more far reaching than stock. Very subtle blue. Same watts (51) as stock. Should last longer than silverstar which uses 55 watts. Got less than a year with one of my silverstars the other is still burning but replaced both with these nighthawks. Was carefull not to touch the glass or have the glass touch anything during install.

4 out of 5 stars GE Nighthawk Sport 9006NHS/BP2   December 29, 2008
I replaced my old bulbs which ironiclly happened to be GE's also. These new bulbs are definately brighter and whiter. I'm not sure how old my old bulbs were since I bought the car used. But again the Nighthawks are noticably brighter.
I initially had purchased some replacement bulbs on Ebay. Eventhough they were 9006's the wattage was 80/100 not 55 watts as they should have been. I guess because of that these bulb were extremely dim. If a car was behind me I could see my car ahead of me as a shadow because of the dimness.
Again though, I recommend the Nighthawks, excellent price and value.

Amazon auto match stated this item was the correct part number for my car even thought I first selected the 9004 part number (which actually is the correct part number). So for this particular purchase it's a really bad one. I will comment when and if I do decide to order the correct one.

3 out of 5 stars Wish people would do some research before purchasing lights...   December 13, 2008
I will admit that GE Nighthawks Non-Sport(and Phillips Vision Plus) are one of the few replacement lights that do help to naturally see further than many stock oem instead of just being substance however...

Many White lights do NOT give you better visibility over the older oem yellowish colour. The reason people believe it so is because a "hotter" looking colour K is associated with brightness to people and it inherently makes them believe they are better(many claim it's most true to the sun). In truth the standard yellow K is more efficient with the way human eyes work and will not needlessly blind your fellow motorists who have to deal with your white/blue monstrosities as well as decrease your weather glaring. I even see people with the wrong lights in their foglights fused >.< This change will force your eyes more near the road right infront of your own car instead of looking out farther as you should be for safety.

White lights are also much worse in the rain...however I do find that these Sport version Nighthawks are not super annoying and work well with other motorists if you have them properly aligned. GE NightHawks, like Phillips Vision Plus, not only have longer lifespans than other aftermarket "coloured" bulbs but also have proper colorless clear glass(Non Sport) and emit considerably more usable seeing light with less glare unlike said competitors' products.

"Most cars already stock fit with HIDs come with proper anti-glare devices such as a self-leveling system which automatically adjusts the lights so they do not point higher than they should.

The safe range normally goes up to about 5000K +/-. Headlights at 6000K aapproach PURE white. In fact, at 6000k, drivers will feel that traffic signs on the road will start to be glaring. Over 6000K, lights will start to turn BLUE; this is when your headlights are better off being off. Other than aesthetics, your headlights are practically useless in brightening up the roads. It simply becomes an irritant to other motorists.

Retrofitted xenon lights are glaring because the reflective plates within the headlights are not made for HID bulbs. At a traffic light stop...You will notice that a factory fitted HID vehicle has its light cut off below the bumper of the car ahead and the headlight cut off is very defined and does not throw diffused light.

Retrofitted HID cars can have their light beams directed up to the license plate of the car ahead. This is done because originally, more resonance reflection is required due to the lower intensity of halogen fitted cars.

In summary, while these Sport version of the original Nighthawks do perform worse than said originals for viewing purposes they will give you a lower white/high yellow look more people seem to want and won't blind your fellow vehicle enthusiasts.

4 out of 5 stars above average distance, not so blue   December 4, 2008
I bought this item pretty much only because i needed new bulbs and because of the buy 1 get 1 free deal + $10 off twin pack. They were very easy to install and the they were much much brighter then the bulbs i had on ( probably because mine were over 2 years old). I was really hoping for there to be a obvious blue tint to the light as indicated but there really wasn't. The bulb itself is colored blue but you won't see it when its lit.
