| Customer Reviews:
a must for extreme environs November 7, 2008 In the Mojave desert, the air conditioner eats power like no tomorrow during summer.
I did 2/3 of my attic with radiant barrier at the start of summer. My central air ducts are hung from roof rafters, so I had to unroll the "foil" over the existing fiberglass batting in the attic. I did it over 2 weekends. The first weekend it was only over the MBR and kitchen; I could feel the difference between the rest of the house and those rooms the next day. The power bills show less usage over the hot months than last year, by a nice margin.
I've ordered more, enough to complete the job.
Radiant Barrier Insulation September 20, 2008 I installed radiant barrier insulation in my attic and it dropped the attic temperature 30 to 40 degrees in the Texas heat. I can tell a significant difference inside my house as far as radiant heat. Before, I could feel the heat radiating inside, but now It is cooler. My electric bill dropped about $75.00 per month during the summer months. My house is not shaded. Anyone using radiant barrier in a shaded area would probably have lesser results because there would be less radiated heat.
