Amazon.com Review Banish the chills this winter with the energy-efficient Safe Heat Oil-Filled Radiator from industry leader, DeLonghi. Solo, the quiet radiator serves as an alternative heat source in small and medium rooms. The 110-volt radiator also complements a central heating system, bringing warmth to high-use areas while the main system runs on low for more cost-effective heating. The radiator construction features rustproof metal for even heat distribution and resilience with pure diathermic oil completely sealed inside. Heat radiates through several vertical thermal tunnels while keeping the hot elements enclosed and out of the reach of fingers and other body parts and objects. Three power settings allow flexibility for diverse rooms and personal heating needs. For energy efficiency, the heater runs low at 600 watts or medium at 900 watts to slowly spread warmth. On high at 1500 watts, the radiator brings full heat to the room with extra speed. Users direct the room's temperature for comfort with an adjustable thermostat. With a 24-hour programmable timer, the heater offers 96 options in terms of temperature, wattage, duration, and activation time. An antifreeze function engages should the indoor temperature fall below 44 degrees F, while the heater also automatically shuts off upon knock-over or overheating. Four wheels enable easy transportation from one room to another. The power cord wraps around for storage. DeLonghi advises against placing the radiator too close to power outlet, outdoors, or near flammables. Avoid running the power line under carpets. Thorough safety guidelines and assembly instructions are included. The radiator weighs 23 pounds upon shipping. --Jessica Reuling

Delonghi TRD0715T heater November 29, 2008 I bought the Delonghi heater last winter and this winter it has started making noise on the 2 & 3 settings. Perhaps it's not 'drive you crazy' loud but, who knows, perhaps it'll get worse and it is disappointing. I'm considering moving it out of the bedroom and getting different heater for that space. Beyond that it's definitely not a quick way to heat up a room but, on the plus side, if we just turn it on a little while before going to bed then we're comfortable through the night and can keep our furnace turned way down. Also, it seems solidly constructed and hasn't given us any cause for concern about its safety. So, really, it's been quite good but I just might consider getting something else as our second space heater because of the noise issue, but it's definitely a possibility that I'll just get another one of these.
Very good November 25, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought a oil-filled radiator because I have cat (not dangerous for them). Oveall, I am very satisfied. I have a very large bedroom and it manages to heat the whole thing pretty well. It's safe, does not make noise at all, and no smell here (only at the beginning). It's easy to use, though I haven't figured out how to use the timer and from what I gathered, it makes a lot of noise so won't be using that. I am very satisfied and would recommend that oil-filled heaters anytime, mine in particular.
Hot air rises November 23, 2008 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
This is our third DeLonghi heater. We bought the first one about six years ago and it's still going strong. With oil prices fluctuating, we decided it might make sense to lower the thermostats a few degrees and use electric heaters to supplement. After reading the reviews, I had a hard time deciding between this model and the EW7707CM, so since we needed two units, I ordered one of each. We're keeping the EW7707CM and are returning this unit (TRD0715T) in exchange for another EW7707CM. Why? Well, they both put out a nice level of warmth, both are stable and safe, and both are attractive. BUT, this unit only radiates the heat upwards. The fins are so close together that there is no heat radiating from the sides. I was sitting right next to it and felt very little warmth. The EW unit radiates heat from top and sides and it gives off a lovely warmth. And it's comfortable and safe enough that my cats curl up near it.
So Far So Good November 23, 2008 I purchased two of these because of a review that broke down the warming power of a customer's basement. I would agree that these work well for the money. They are easy to use and store. As with most heaters, it takes a while to get going, but once the heat of on full blast you can definately feel it working. I only use it for the bedrooms before I go to bed and set the timer for when I wake up. I'm happy with this product.
Great heater! November 17, 2008 I just purchased this heater and after the first day of use I am very satisfied. There was a smell at the initial start up which others have noted but it was insignificant after about 3 hours of use. The smell results from a chemical which they use to prevent the metal from rusting during shipping. At high heat this chemical burns off and there is an unpleasent odor that comes off. After around 2-3 hours most of the chemical and smell are gone. After that this heater warms up a room pretty quick even on the first setting. My room is fairly small so I am not sure if the first setting could warm up a much larger room. Using the third setting burns approximately 1500W compared to 700W at the first setting so there is a massive energy consumption difference. Overall, this heater is going to keep me warm during the notoriously long and cold Wisconsin winters!
