Excellent! September 7, 2010 Neev (Woodinville, Washington) I purchased these phones after switching to a digital phone provider. I chose this Panasonic model for several reasons: price, good reviews from current users, the ability to buy additional handsets as needed. I'm very happy with the sound quality, I love the size of the screen which let's me see who is calling from across the room, and the additional features such as speaker phone that make this useful in every room in the house. For those of us who habitually tuck the phone between ear and shoulder, this phone provides a textured surface on the back that makes it non-slip. All in all, a thoughtfully designed phone that looks like it has been built to last.
Beware, there is not Talking Caller ID feature September 6, 2010 moostang Bought this item for my mom who was visiting me, I didn't have the opportunity to check the phone myself. We realized that the phone didn't have the Talking Caller ID feature advertised after my mom was gone and it was not reasonable for me to ask my mom to return the phone since she lives in another country. Unfortunately I had left 5-star review for the seller merely out of trust.
It's top rated in October 2010's Consumer Reports September 4, 2010 Robert Harris (Phoenix Az) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This cordless phone is top-rated in the October 2010 issue of Consumer Reports and after comparing it to a VTech wireless 6.0 phone that I recently purchased (and later returned) I can see why. It has large numbers on the display...a great feature for we seniors. It has a economy mode that powers down the phone until you walk up to it...and it then it beeps and turns the power on. It has lighted buttons at night...a great feature in my dimmly lit room. And, it is very clear and crisp when transmitting calls. My only issues is that sometimes the caller's voice fads out for afew moments but the VTech had the same problem so I think it's a directional thing within the walls of my home. You can buy the cheaper VTech or Uniden phones but for the few dollars extra I think the Panasonic is unmatched for both quality and features.
Not as happy as some reviewers were. September 3, 2010 Dorothy E Delong (EL CENTRO, CALIFORNIA, US) Like the size, shape and the light up screen and buttons very easy to see. However, the volume of the ringer is not loud and to many buttons to push when using "CID" or "erase" feature. The speaker phone feature does work great, nice and clear and loud. No echo sound.
False Advertising - No Talking Caller ID September 3, 2010 n 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Ordered this phone specifically because we did not need an answering machine but preferred the talking caller ID feature. There is no talking caller ID capability with this phone - even though the seller falsely advertises talking caller ID as one of the features. Sadly, we ordered this phone one day before a similar review came out on Aug 31. Pretty disappointing overall.
