Burn baby burn July 14, 2010 S.B.W.B.S. This knife is a MUST BUY. It came razor sharp (shaved off some of my beard with it). The signal whistle on it is pretty loud and high pitched, definately gets peoples' attention. The led light that is on it is really bright for being so small. It helps to walk around at night. the knife is very sturdy when locked in place while open which is always a good thing. The fire starter is a little more complicated than i had expected because i had never used anything like it before. I found what works best is if you have some fire starter (a cotton ball that you swabbed in petroleum jelly and placed on some leaves, twigs, and sticks works fantastic for this) and lightly scrape some of the magnesium off onto the cotton ball. Then do one hard strike and it will catch the cotton ball on fire which will burn 5 to ten minutes to start up your bonfire. Using this method saves alot of money on lighter fluid. Get this here and get it now!
Great Value May 22, 2010 Mark Twain (florida) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This tool is not the best fire starter, whistle, knife or light but for an all in one tool it does a great job. It's light but sturdy and feels good in my hand.
My one complaint is that the fire starter/light attachment does not clip securely enough into the tool. If I tossed this into a bag I'd expect that it would separate from the tool at some point and maybe get lost. For that I gave this 4 stars although if 4.5 stars had been a choice I'd have chosen that.
Good knife. Would definitely recommend to a friend! May 17, 2010 Shiraz Zaidi (New York) Everything is what you would expect, however, the only complaint you might have is that the blade sometimes seems a bit loose when open. I learned that just pulling the locking mechanism tighter fixes the problem. Otherwise, this is a great knife and definitely a great tool to have with you when outdoors.
Good sharp knife April 5, 2010 Dawn L. Nicola (Temecula, CA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is the second one of these that I have bought, I first bought the same knife in the black finish to give to a friend. I liked it so much I bought one for myself! It is a little wider than a "normal" pocket folding knife but it has more to it than a regular knife too. The blade comes to you already sharpened, the flashlight is already good to go and the whistle is LOUD!! I haven't had any problems with the flashlight falling out, the O-Ring that keeps it in place is really tight, takes a bit of effort to push in and take out which isn't a bad thing and if it were to wear out you should be able to find a replacement without a problem. I have used the fire starter a couple of times and the sparks that come off it (if you do it right) would definitely help with lighting a fire so don't forget to pack this when you go camping! It comes in a small metal box with the foam cut out on the inside for you to store it, nice presentation if you wanted to purchase this as a gift as I originally did.
Overall, I feel that this was a good purchase. Nice knife, good presentation, great value for the money.
Sharp! February 7, 2010 J. Shull (CA) Extremely sharp, one of the sharpest knives I've owned, be careful with this one. Led light is moderately bright, fire starter must be struck at the correct angle and force to produce an efficient spark with the knife's back teeth. I really like the features packed in this knife. Recommended.
