Could've gotten it cheaper at Walmart June 20, 2010 Thomas J. Larson (Omaha) The notebook is fine, but when I went to Walmart, I saw the same books for half the price. I think I'm getting too lazy buying things on Amazon and didn't even bother looking somewhere else first.
The Almost Perfect Notebook April 28, 2010 Alena Since I started using these composition notebooks, I've noticed so many others using them, as well. I've seen them used in business, travel, school, church for note-taking, meetings, and journals. This got me thinking about what is great about the composition notebook:
-It's great for taking any kind of notes.
-The pages are lined.
-The binding is strong--it won't easily fall apart.
-It's the perfect size--not too big, not to small, adequate for note-taking.
-The cover is made of thick cardboard, so you always have a hard surface to lean on.
-I've seen some great leather covers for these notebooks that add character and sophistication.
So, I guess I'm sold. I've been thinking I need to get some sticky divider tabs, though, so I can easily find my notes on different subjects.
The "original" old Mead Composition Book February 15, 2010 Bartok Kinski (Prague) The "original" old Mead Composition Book is a classic. But recently Mead changed the Composition Book so that it's now worthless. The paper seems like it isn't 100% pure quality tree paper so it's not as smooth to write on, the cover is a messy "plastic-type" cardboard, the black tape comes off in 3 months. I hate these things now.
The "original" old Mead Composition Book didn't need to be changed. Bring it back.
Sturdy favorite February 12, 2010 amf0001 (New York, NY United States) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have mead books from my son's Kindergarten class. These books can take a lot of banging about and don't lose their binding or let sheets of paper go. The covers aren't flimsy and can take a full year of being in the backpacks and then strewn around the house. They are sturdy and reliable and good value. We don't buy any other brand of composition book - these ones always do the trick.
SO THIN December 11, 2009 Bader A. Alsaeed (Portland, OR USA) 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
The pages are really thin; you can see the ink through more than one page. The cover is also kind of thin. If you need a cheap - low quality notebook for nothing important then this is for you.
