Customer Reviews:
Very nice tool May 25, 2007 0 out of 3 found this review helpful
It looks and feels good. The quality of workmanship and the materials are excellent. It is a very clever design and the tightening mechanism has lots of leverage to easily pull the blade very tight. It is very lightweight yet quite sturdy.
Terrific lightweight hacksaw April 30, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Stanley 20-001 12-Inch High Tension-Low Profile Hacksaw
I rarely buy a new tool on impulse, but holding this one at Home Depot was all it took. As it has turned out, of the three other hacksaws in the shop, this is the one most used. It only weighs a few ounces (all aluminum), has a comfortable handle, and the blade can be mounted at 45 degrees so you can cut close to a surface without busting your knuckles. There is no blade storage and no adjustment for a shorter blade length; which keeps the saw small and light. The arc shaped frame allows me to get the nose of the saw into places that other hacksaws can't reach, yet still cut to 4" depth by staying to the rear part of the blade. It's simple to apply high tension to the blade (to prevent blade twisting and flexing) by tightening the adjusting knob; and just as easy to change blades. Very nice hacksaw!
